Sometimes when you're hanging out with friends, you talk about a product you like. Everything is normal so far.
What is not normal? How does this product appear as an advertisement? Is the internet reading your mind?
Actually, the answer is really basic It’s all about the targeting. No one reads your mind.
In this blog post, we review types of PPC keywords and I'm going to share with you my keyword plan strategy.
TYPES OF PPC KEYWORD
Keyword research helps you find ideal customers and build a community. I believe we should categorize customer intentions and The more categories we divide, the easier it is to reach our ideal customers.
But don’t forget the most important thing is our business goal. You need to choose the keyword base on your business goal.
Categories :
Brand : This is really importan for search. Consider you searched nike shoes on google but you saw ads of Nike’s competitors. It’s not good for your brand. These words contain the name of a product, service, or company. For example,“Nike shoes", “Nike ", “Nike for men" are branded keywords.
Generic: These words are not related to any brand or company name. Instead, they are general words people might use when searching for a product or service. For example, “running shoes” or “personal trainer" are generic keywords.
Transactional :When a customer knows their needs. They usually search specific terms on google. These words have a high intent to buy, as they are often used in searches for specific products or services. These may include the words buy, where to buy, reserve, book, booking, deals, discount, order, for sale, etc.
For example, “buy running shoes” or “personal trainer near me." would fall into this category.
Informational: When we aware service or product useful for us. We look for it to match our needs or demands. These words are used when people are researching a product or service. They don’t have a specific intent to buy but instead want more information. They may be formulated as a question or may include words such as guide, tutorial, compare, review, rate, etc.
For instance, "how to start jogging" would be an informational keyword.
Navigational: These words are used when people know exactly what they’re looking for. Navigational keywords may include brand names, product names, service names, locations or words such as near me, directions to, prices, cost of, etc.
For instance, they might search for "running shoes Amazon."
Locational: People may want to buy products or services from locations close to them. They generally search “near me” on google. These words contain a location, and are used when people want to find something specific in their area.
For instance, “personal trainer Toronto.”
As you can see, with the right keyword strategy, you can list #1 for ads even if your competitor is Nike.
MATCH TYPE
When it comes to pay-per-click advertising (particularly in Google Search Ads), We have got different types of keyword targeting. I’m going to share with you need to know about each keyword match type:
BROAD MATCH
Broad match is Google’s default keyword match type.
Generally we use for awareness campaign because there are no clear parameter.Broad match can be an ideal option if your goal is to bring the maximum amount of reach with your ads and traffic to your website. But if you have limited budget it’s risky as clicks from irrelevant searches and it cost your marketing budget.
For instance Running shoes :
- best running shoes
- cheap running shoes
- Comfortable running shoes in USA
- How to choose comfortable running shoes in UK
PHRASE MATCH
If you use keyword phrase matching in your campaigns, your ad will appear only when it is exactly the wording in a search query. It is still flexible, such as broad match type, but it is more precisely targeted. It gives you more control.
This type of match will show your ad to customers searching for an exact keyword with other words before or after it. He’ll also see close variations of that keyword. With this match, you can reach more customers and show your ads to those customers who are more likely to be looking for your product or service.
The best types of campaigns for phrase match keywords are awareness and consideration campaigns since they can help you target more specific searches.
For instance women hats:
- Blue women hats
- Buy hats for women
- Ladies hats on women
EXACT MATCH
With the exact match keyword match type, your ads only appear for the exact search query. It also shows for searches of the same meaning with your keyword. While this would mean attracting the most relevant searchers, it also means the lowest reach since only a few people will type in the exact search term.
For instance women’s hat :
- women's hats
- ladies hats
- hats for women
Have a good reading :)
